Handling and Storage

Human Growth Hormone should be kept cool whenever possible.  This is essential once it has been reconstituted (i.e. once the liquid and powder have been mixed).  Once Humatrope®  is reconstituted, it must be kept refrigerated and used within 14 days.  Humatrope® must not be frozen.

If Humatrope® is left unconstituted the shelf life is up to the expiry date marked on the box, (normally around 12 months).  The manufacturer Lilly recommends keeping the unconstituted product cool and it is advisable to be stored in the refrigerator. Humatrope® potency can be affected if it is exposed to temperatures in excess of normal room temperature for days.  

We are now providing Saizen® Human Growth Hormone from Serono.  Saizen® has some advantages.  First it is stable at room temperature (before the product is constituted), and it also lasts longer once constituted (when it has to then be kept refrigerated).  Once constituted, Saizen® should be discarded after 30-days.

Restrictions
