Properties

Pota
ssium penicillin V is the potassium salt of phenoxymethylpenicillin. It provides the advantages of stability in an acidic medium and easy absorption when taken by mouth. It is a bactericide and acts during the period of bacterial multiplication, inhibiting the biosynthesis of the mucopeptide of the cell wall.

The usual dosage produces therapeutic concentrations in different liquids of the organism that base their use on these instructions. 80% combine with plasmatic proteins.

Its activity has been proven, "in vitro" among other methods, with respect to the following microorganisms: Straphylococcus, non-producers of penicillinase, streptococcus (groups A, C, G, H, L and M) and diplococcus pneumoniae.
